Issey Miyake, born in 1938 in Hiroshima, Japan, and passed away in 2022, was a revolutionary designer whose creations deeply influenced international fashion. Known for his design philosophy centered around the concept of “One Piece of Cloth,” Miyake explored the possibilities of clothing from a single piece of fabric, innovating with techniques like pleating.

He became famous for his designs that combine Japanese tradition with avant-garde technology, notably with his “Pleats Please” and “A-POC” series, which redefined contemporary clothing through innovative manufacturing and functional aesthetics.
Miyake was also a pioneer in using digital technologies in fashion design, integrating computers into the creation process to produce garments that blend art and practicality. His vision was always to create clothing that enhances people’s lives, emphasizing comfort and freedom of movement.
